I absolutely loved this maternity session! Jennifer wanted to do their session at their home which is nestled on Lake Norman. It’s a beautiful home and Brad does an excellent job at maintaining their yard, so it was picture perfect for a backyard session. Keep an eye out on the blog for their sweet little arrival that came not long after this shoot. Baby Lily’s newborn session has been published on a few blogs, so stay tuned!
So I’ve held off on blogging this lovely session because I submitted it for publication, and usually publishers prefer to be the first to showcase the images. It has since been featured a couple of times, so it’s safe now to post them on my own blog! This session actually happened in February of this year, and I’ve since had the pleasure of photographing baby Carl’s newborn session, in addition to another family session when he was a few months old! Time flies! Enjoy a sneak peek of Matt & Emily’s beautiful maternity session at Clover Community Park!
I have the pleasure of knowing this beautiful couple, and am so excited for them as they await the arrival of their first little one. We ventured to Furman University to do the session, where Melanie went to college. We started off at a beautiful rose garden, then finished up on a stretch of lawn lined with beautiful tall oak trees. Enjoy some of my favorites from their session!
Meet the Grigsby’s. We took their photos at Lineberger Park in Gastonia, NC. This sweet family has helped keep me in business since starting out in photography. I have had the pleasure of watching their family grow, and they have also been able to witness me grow and develop into a better photographer over the last 3 years. Now they are getting ready to welcome baby #4 into the world…and guess what it is? Yep, another baby boy! God bless you Jennifer. Hehe!
So, how I actually ended up with the pleasure of photographing this sweet little guy is pretty interesting. A fellow photographer who I’ve known for a couple of years now (Julia Laible – Julia Laible Photography) had been booked to capture Toby’s birth. On the night of July 13th, I got a message from Julia; she was in a bit of a panic, as she was out of town in West Virginia and had just been informed that Toby was on his way. A whole month early to be exact! What are the odds he would come on the couple of days she would go out of town? But that’s exactly what happened!
She kindly asked me if I would be willing to capture his arrival, knowing she probably wouldn’t make it back to Charlotte in time. I have always admired Julia’s work, so it really meant a lot that she trusted me to do this for her. So a big thanks to Julia for giving me this opportunity. I just love, love capturing birthdays. An amazing experience for sure; there is truly nothing like it!
Please enjoy some of my favorites from Toby’s arrival. 🙂
