So we took a family beach vacation in July to North Myrtle Beach. While we were there, we had the pleasure of having our photos done by Discover Love Studios. Hop on over to their page and check out their work. Brittany is a fabulous photographer, and her husband is great with video! They make a fab duo!
So this is my sweet daughter and beautiful niece. My sister and I decided to have a lunch with the girls outside this day, and planned a last minute photo shoot since the peach trees were beginning to bloom. It wasn’t the best time of day for lighting, but I think we still got some lovely images. Love these sweet girls! So glad they will grow up having a close relationship…
I am so excited to finally feature these images! Last month I had the pleasure of photographing a styled wedding session with some of the best vendors in my area. The shoot took place at Separk Mansion in Gastonia, NC. I took some photos of this beautiful venue in January; you can view those here.
Alongside planner and creative designer Kat Howes, we decided on a color theme of mint, coral, blush and gold. We wanted to display a modern elegance, incorporating some fun props to show a wedding can be both elegant and fun! I am super stoked with the way everything came together. A HUGE thank-you to all of the participating vendors!

So today my sister and I planned to take our kids to the pool, but after realizing the gloomy weather wasn’t great for that, we decided to find something to do at home instead. I have to admit, I have seen this already done by so many photographers, but how could you see photos like this, and NOT want to do it yourself? The kids just loved it, and all the color made for fantastic photos! Hope you enjoy viewing these as much as I loved taking them. 🙂
So probably unlike most mothers when their child gets their first haircut, I brought my camera along and snapped pictures of the whole event! This was a big deal for me, because this was Ava’s very first haircut, and she’s 3 years old. Her hair was something I LOVED, and chopping it off was hard for me. Yeah, weird I know. But she wanted shorter hair, so we decided to cut off 8 inches so that it could be donated. She did a great job for her first time to the salon; here are some pictures of her experience!
Where do I even begin this post? Amanda is a fellow photographer and posted on a Facebook page [that we are members of] that she was looking for someone to photograph her husband’s homecoming. I immediately messaged her saying I would love the pleasure of doing this and thankfully she agreed to let me share this experience with her!
There are really no words to describe what I felt that day. I had never met Justin before this day, but knowing what he and so many other men and women have done during their services in the military, it still meant more to me than I know how to explain. He flew in to Columbia, SC. We waited for his arrival in an airplane hanger with several hundred other people; shoulder to shoulder, literally. Needless to say, it was H-O-T! You could feel the emotions of everyone there as we waited for their arrival.
Once they landed, the door to the hanger was closed so they could march in before being dismissed to their families. Once it opened, an overwhelming applause filled the hanger. Flags were flying, people shouting; incredible! So extremely thankful to have been a part of this experience. Enjoy some of my favorite photos of Justin’s homecoming!
